I know that if I were raising a pre-adolescent daughter, I'd have a lot of things on my mind: her grades, her friendships, maybe the stormy teenage years ahead. One thing I probably wouldn't be obsessing over is whether she intended to remain "pure" till marriage.

Some people apparently approach this question differently. Recently I stumbled across an article on Yahoo! News dealing with...

Can our nation's multiculturalism embrace Islamic radicals and reformers?

The other night, Asad Kassan's mother called him from her home in Bangladesh. She asked him again, as she has so often did since he moved to Toronto fourteen years ago, when he was going to settle down like his brothers and sisters and marry. Then she began to cry. Well, considering that I refuse to watch the first film starring Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville, and since I was not a huge fan of the show (but at least respected its popularity), this review should be interesting shouldn't it? The 2005 film was directed by Broken Lizard's own Jay Chandrasekhar. It...

I'd rate Onirban's My Brother Nikhil much higher. I didn't like Brokeback Mountain at all. In fact, I quite hated it. I was put off by the abruptness with which the love scenes between the two male actors came on. I thought they were unnecessarily sensationalistic and seemed to be put there for titillation.
